Rise Armament is adding a new law enforcement centered division to its company, announcing Rise LE and its first product the 300LE.
The star of the new department, the 300LE sprang from the shooting tragedy in Dallas in July 2016. After watching police ambushed, Rise Armament says it felt compelled to create a rifle specifically for law enforcement that paired supreme accuracy with dependability that also was affordable.
“It’s important to us for officers to be equipped with high-quality, high-performance rifles that are affordable,” Matt Torres, president of Rise Armament, said in a press release. “They’re putting their lives on the line for us every day, and it’s our duty to use our talents as engineers and machinists to give them the best products possible.”
The 300LE was developed with input from SWAT/SOT/SRT officers in addition to patrol officers, military snipers, competitive shooters, and firearms instructors to ensure LE needs were met. Chambered in .223 Wylde, the rifle features an advanced flash hider to minimize flash in low-light environments. Using a CB-160 match-grade barrel, the 416R stainless steel barrel shooting sub MOA with most factory grade ammo, according to Rise Armament. Early reports are that it can push out to the 600 yard range with heavier, duty ammo. The barrel is topped off with a 1-in-7-inch twist and 1/2×28 threads.
The rifle sports a 13.5-inch skeletonized handguard with a continuous 12 o’clock top rail and M-LOK slots for accessory mounting. Using an LE145 Tactical Trigger, the rifle boasts a “crisp, balanced break” with a 4.5-pound trigger pull. The rifle rounds out its attributes with a Magpul pistol grip and CTR stock, ambidextrous safety and iron sights or an add-on Vortex Crossfire red dot.
