Iowa: House Amends Bill to Discourage Discrimination Against Firearm Industry

Gun Rights

On Wednesday, the House voted 63-34 to pass Senate File 507 with a critical amendment to ensure that Iowa taxpayer dollars do not go to businesses that boycott the firearm industry, among other industries. The amended bill now goes to the Senate for further consideration. Please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT SF 507, as amended by the House.

Senate File 507, as amended by the House, prohibits public contracts with companies that are boycotting certain industries, including those that engage in or support the manufacture, distribution, sale, or lawful use of firearms, firearm accessories and ammunition. Anti-gun corporations, banks and their executives have expressed interest in denying services to the firearm industry as a way to further their political agenda and impose gun control by making such business impossible when legislatures won’t bend to their will.

Again, please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT SF 507, as amended by the House.
