DEJA VU: Republican inaction following the latest school shooting is on brand

Gun Rights

The Republican Hypocrisy Factory is currently operating at Ludicrous Speed in the wake of yet another horrific school shooting, which involved their favorite weapon of choice, the AR-15.

This story contains an update and a correction.

Every pro-gun GOP member of Congress has been tweeting overtime in the days following the deaths of three nine-year-olds and three adults after a shooter opened fire at Covenant School, a Christian charter school in Nashville.

One of the students, Hallie Scruggs, was the daughter of Covenant Presbyterian Church senior pastor Chad Scruggs, so all of those thoughts and prayers just don’t seem to work, Trumpocrites.

As Twitter users raged against the NRA-GOP machine, one account zeroed in on a particularly awful paid gun shill to point out the hypocrisy that spews forth from the GOP every time we hear about children dying in their classrooms.

Nobody’s private head thoughts could save Hallie Scruggs from the Ar-15 that tore her 9-year-old body apart.

Twitter user Chris Davis shared a collage thought to have been copied and pasted “thoughts and prayers” tweets from slimy opportunistic Texas Salamander Senator and permanent Trump toilet/bidet Ted Cruz following nine different mass shootings.

While the compilation was fact-checked by the AP last year, the real tweets from his accounts show Cruz has repeatedly used some phrases multiple times in tweets about mass shootings — for example “lifting up in prayer,” and addressing the “community” and “first responders.”

Since his spine has never fully fused, it makes Ted the perfect example of why nobody should ever vote for Republicans.

Here’s a REAL tweet by Cancun Ted Cruz before he pumped his political war chest full of NRA money:

Sound familiar?

So while not all of the tweets in the satire tweet down below might be real (sorry folks), the inaction from the GOP sadly is.

Vile, isn’t it?

And we think anything is going to change?

It is abundantly clear that the Guns Over People party is a death cult funded by Russian-funneled NRA blood money.

The line was drawn, as Bryan Tyler Cohen tweeted when the assault weapons ban expired. (below)

You’re not “pro-life” in any way if you only care about the white pre-born Gun Groomers.

The Gun Groomers in the GOP aren’t going to change their hateful tune when it comes to guns as long as they keep getting that sweet, sweet NRA blood money, and what’s worse, everyone knows it.

Even John Kasich!

Food for thought:

This is the LITERAL FAKE NEWS we talked about above that is a great satire but not real:

UPDATE: This story did not originally contain a screenshot of Senator Ted Cruz’s actual Tweet wishing thoughts and prayers to the victims of the Newtown school massacre. Now it does.

Correction: This story originally did not contain the AP fact-check information about the above tweet, which was added in a post-publication fact-check. The satirical tweet has been labeled as “LITERAL FAKE NEWS” to correct the story. T
