Utah: Committee Defeats Anti-Gun “Waiting Period” Bill

Gun Rights

Yesterday, the Senate Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Committee voted 6-2 to reject Senate Bill 50. It would have created a “California” inspired definition of “assault weapon” and a ten day waiting period on delivery, excluding weekends and holidays. This, in reality, would have resulted in a 14-day wait on modern sporting rifles and other firearms that meet this arbitrary definition.

NRA thanks the lawmakers who rejected this proposal and continue to show their strong support for the Second Amendment. Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your email inbox for further updates.
