The Oklahoma Senate Judiciary Committee scheduled House Bill 2218 (“HB 2218”) for a hearing tomorrow, April 13, at 2:00 P.M., to ensure that Oklahoma taxpayers are not funding businesses that discriminate against the firearm industry. Please take a moment to click the “Take Action” button and contact the committee members urging them to SUPPORT HB 2218.
House Bill 2218 prohibits public entities from entering into contracts worth $100,000 or greater with businesses unless they certify that they do not discriminate against firearm businesses. Anti-gun corporations, banks, and their executives have expressed interest in denying services to the firearm industry as a way to further their political agenda and impose gun control by making such business impossible when legislatures won’t bend to their will. Entities should evaluate firearm businesses like any other business and consider financial aspects, rather than ideology, in their decisions on providing services.
Again, please use the link above to contact the committee members NOW and respectfully urge them to SUPPORT HB 2218. It’s crucial that NRA members and Second Amendment supporters take action now to stand for their Second Amendment rights in Oklahoma.
